About Us
The Love Saves Foundation was established in 2007 by Melissa
Vettraino to raise awareness of the plight of the Asian elephant. Melissa first witnessed the cruel treatment
that elephants all over Asia face while they are in captivity while she was
visiting Thailand. During the same trip,
Melissa saw the positive impact of elephant sanctuaries as a volunteer at the
Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. After her experience in Thailand, Melissa
decided to found LSF to help elephants.
LSF is a non- profit organization where all proceeds from donations and
the sale of merchandise go directly to saving the elephants.
This foundation is dedicated to Mea Mai who passed away in December 2007. She was my elephant that I had to get to know and write about for the week when I visited Elephant Nature Park. She showed me that elephants have the ability to forgive humans for their ignorance and that a little love goes a long way. You will be missed Mae Mai.
